Doellie and her dolly

One of Kirra’s nicknames is ‘Doellie’ (pronounced ‘Dolly’), so whenever I see her playing with a doll, I always think ‘Doellie and her dolly’ LOL

Over the weekend she was playing with the doll a little bit. She would give hugs and want Mum to wrap the doll up in a blankie. And then she wanted to take dolly for a ride.

Fotoless Friday – snippets

Today I managed to catch a falling object with ninja-like reflexes before it could hit the floor. Never mind that it was my clumsiness that knocked the object off in the first place. Is that the universe maintaining balance?

Why are the songs on the radio that I start out determined to hate, I end up dancing to whenever I hear them?

I want to be reincarnated as a pampered house cat. I will even suffer the odd indignity for your amusement. Payment for which will be found on the carpet in the morning. But preferably by your foot in the middle of the night.

I never fully appreciated the ability to communicate until I had a toddler. A very vocal one speaking a very foreign language.

I love Friday. It really is my favourite day of the week. Especially Friday night. It’s weekend as far as the eye can see and the dreaded Monday is far away. Oh Friday, lets never fight.

Fotoless Friday – It’s the fourth time

That makes four, count em, four, times that a Canadian team has made it to Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals only to lose that sweet, sweet victory. Maybe the home team advantage was the reason? Well, not according to last nights performance in Vancouver. And it didn’t matter back in 2004 when Calgary flamed out on home ice.

It hurt when Edmonton lost in 2006.

And it hurts again now.

WE NEED TO BRING THE CUP HOME!

Daycare art!

I was thinking (shocking, I know) that since I’m trying to be a photography blog, I should include the common photo settings with my pictures. So, now I’m going to try and remember to include that for the pictures from my Sony and Pentax. I can’t promise anything for the cell phone pictures, I don’t really have control over that!

And now, on with the show….

One of my favorite parts of daycare is getting the little art projects they work on during the week.

I have some at work, have given some to the grandparents, and tucked some away. You know, just cuz 😉

And while I know she isn’t cutting the flowers and leaves, I know she’s pouring the glue, chucking sparkles and putting the flowers and leaves on the paper.

Still counts for me.

Peach blossoms

We have a little peach shrub in our front yard (yes, it actually makes edible peaches!) and when the flowers were in full bloom I couldn’t resist. I decided to use my paparazzi lens as a macro lens and snapped away. People must have thought I was nuts, standing half-way across the yard with a huge zoom lens (that’s what she said) seemingly taking pictures of air LOL

But, I think the results are worth it

Fotoless Friday – Sayings

Do you and your significant other (or friend, family member, etc.) say things to each other that someone listening from the outside might just go ‘huh?’

Tuesday, Daryn and I were sitting around the (unlit) firepit and I turned to him and said

“The snipper lost it’s whip”

He turned to me and I could tell he knew what I meant.

Do you?

You know you have a toddler in the house when…

You find yourself washing things you never would have dreamed of washing.

Like fridge magnets.

Fotoless Friday – Daycare lunch

One of my challenges right now is packing a lunch for Kirra that she will actually eat.  I’ve tried sending supper left overs, but she doesn’t always like what’s been made, so I have to exercise my brain.

She does have a preferred lunch, a jam sandwich.  Cut diagonally twice.  No crusts.  Little fussy pants LOL
